The construction of the first stage of a new storage terminal of bulk chemical products in Mejillones in the 2nd region of our country is going to make Vopak-Oxiquim Mejillones terminal S.A. soon. Is a society formed by Royal Vopak and Oxiquim S.A.
The terminal which demands an initial investment of 15 million dollars will be situated in Mejillones Bay , 65 kilometers far from the city of Antofagasta and it will have a capacity of 10 thousand cubic meters, also an anchorage and multi-buoy. |
New facilities will start operation at the end of 2010, start-up has the objective of supporting the increasing industrial activity in the north of Chile.
Royal Vopak is the bigger independent terminal’s operator of the world, specialized in handling and storage of chemical products and hydrocarbon, both liquid and gaseous.
Nowadays operates 79 terminals in 31 countries around the world, which in total have a capacity of 27.7 million of cubic meters, and they are located along the main routes of maritime traffic. Also Vopak to respond a request of its clients has the capacity to develop logistic services in its terminals.
Clients network of the company is formed mainly by companies which operates in chemical industry and hydrocarbon, that is why, it stores a great variety of products, destined to a wide range of industries. |
